At long last, Tweetdeck has decided to make an app for the Android users. After news of the official Twitter client, a lot of Twitter apps suddenly faded into the background for a lot of people because frankly some of the simpler twitter apps didn’t really do much anyway. With an official client on the Marketplace, there was no way they could survive. But Tweetdeck is another story. They have a very strong following across multiple platforms (including both desktop and mobile) and a lot of Android users have been pining for the company to release an Android app.

Orkut is Google’s social networking site that didn’t really take off in the US or anywhere else for that matter, with the due exceptions of Brazil and India. In those two countries it is quite big with a lot of people using the service. it is no competition to Facebook or Twitter though. And now Android users who use Orkut have a reason to rejoice because now there’s an app for Orkut.

For those who have never used Hootsuite — this is a web-based Twitter client service that has power user features that are targeted mainly towwards business users. It has several functions that help you track your brand, keywords on twitter and perceive users are feeling about it. Best of all, you can track all of these through multiple accounts.
