Symsource is not a regular name in the app world but their gifted engineers are behind some of the most popular apps that are around today. Recently, they made news by release a new app on behalf of Telnic Limited. It is called the My.tel and it is a management app for the .tel domain owners.

Telnic Limited is the company that is behind the award-winning .tel TLD that is focussed on communication. So much so that it is the only domain in the world that can be fully accessed through the burgeoning number of smartphones that are around today. You can purchase, setup and maintain a domain through your smartphone without ever going online through a traditional computer of any kind.

The idea here is to have your own .tel domain and use that instead of giving out your phone number, email Id, etc. A lot of us have personal domains that we use to various ends but a .tel domain is meant to be used for sharing contact information and other details that you are likely to find on a business card. Telnic.tel is a good example to give.

So Telnic chose Symsource to design and deliver the app and so far, it seems like they are happy withe results. With the new My.tel app, Android users can create and access their own .tel domains through their Android phones. The app makes it easy to create a .tel site instantly. All you have to do is enter your name, contact details and a few other minor details like designation, etc. Once you’re done with that, the information becomes instantly available to everyone. You can now be found with a simple search for your name or other identifying credentials.

The .tel initiative is minimal by design to reduce data download on mobile phones and speed up access — both very crucial to mobile users.
