Google’s [NASDAQ:GOOG] upcoming I/O developer event has been high on the interest list on the internet, thanks to talks of the latest Android version being released at the event. The search giant has decided to help you keep track of the event by releasing an app that gives you all the information you will need to follow the event obsessively.
Google has released an Android app that has everything that you will need to keep your eyes on the events at the upcoming I/O developers’ conference that is due this Wednesday. Whether you are attending or keeping track remotely, this app will let you have it all — everything that the event has to offer.
Right on the face you have a countdown timer that counts down to the starting of the event which is scheduled to begin at 9am on Wednesday, the 19th of May. Even though there will be multiple live coverages happening all over the Internet, Google has announced that the event will be streamed live via Youtube for the whole world to see. Clearly, they know exactly how much the international audience wants a piece of the action. For example, crowd pressure regularly breaks live blogs during live coverages of Apple keynotes. Although they are getting a handle on that now.
The app will also provide the whole schedule for the event and will have the live streaming option built in. So you will not have to go away from the app to view it. It also contains GPS maps to the location if you are attending and are not sure where exactly you are supposed to go. It even has a built in sandbox and a note taking area. So it is a complete package for the event.
The Google I/O 2010 app is available free on the Marketplace but it requires Android 2.0 or higher to function.
