Hootsuite, the popular webclient for Twitter users has released Android Apps (and updated their iPhone app). For those who have never used Hootsuite — this is a web-based Twitter client service that has power user features that are targeted mainly towwards business users. It has several functions that help you track your brand, keywords on twitter and perceive users are feeling about it. Best of all, you can track all of these through multiple accounts.
A lot of companies, professionals and individuals use hootsuite (including yours truly) and the apps are thus meant to be natural extensions to the online experience. Before this release, the Hootsuite app was only on the iPhone and it cost $1.99. Now, Hootsuite has two versions of its app on the Android Marketplace.
One is the lite version which has a 3 accounts limit and doesn’t have the statistics that can be used for twitter data analysis. The full version of course everything and does not limit the user to only 3 accounts. It costs the same as the iPhone counter part – $1.99.
Since this is supposed to be an extension of their service and not a whole new one, there is full integration with the web account. This includes syncing the mobile app with the web account and transfer all preferences and set ups. The user can switch between the web and the app seamlessly.
The app supports all the special features that Hootsuite is known for — click tracking, photo sharing, video and website preview, link shortening and specialized searches that can be saved as permanent tabs.
Over all, as Android continues to grow in size and gain more marketshare, these special utility apps will be appearing more frequently on the Android community’s radars. For now, enjoy Hootsuite’s apps on your Android phone. Available right now on the marketplace.
