Cyber Monday Beating Out Black Friday?

I wouldn’t go so far as to say people don’t absolutely love the excitement of hitting the stores on Black Friday but let’s face it, Cyber Monday is much more convenient for some of us. The only difference in terms of price slashes and discounts between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is that one of these events allows you to shop from home. Which one? Obviously, Cyber Monday is, right? What makes Cyber Monday so great? Well for one, there are many times that we have every intention of dragging ourselves out the day after Thanksgiving to shop but just cannot muster the energy to do so. That turkey and its Tryptophan can really do a number on us!

Then of course we cannot forget those who just cannot make it out of their homes for a variety of reasons and for them Cyber Monday is the best thing since sliced white bread! So what is it that happens on Cyber Monday? It’s simple! Stores all over the world participate in amazing deals on everything from iPads, iPod Touch, PS3 systems, Xbox 360 systems and of course all of the games that go with them.

If you are not into gaming systems then do not worry as there is almost nothing that cannot be found on Cyber Monday at a really amazing discounted price. So whether it is a PlayStation 3 you want to buy for your child or a brand new big screen television for yourself, Cyber Monday is going to be the best time of year to do that. Lately statistics have shown that far more people are shopping on Cyber Monday than on Black Friday and every year those numbers seem to rise. Don’t miss out this year on all the great deals you can find on Cyber Monday.

It seems like just yesterday when we were all online doing our last minute shopping on Cyber Monday, doesn’t it? Well the event has arrived yet again and here we go again! You got some great prices on electronics last year and you are gearing up to do the same this year. Perhaps, you attended Black Friday at some of your favorite stores and you found that the items you wanted were out of stock. This happens quite easily on Black Friday as it is considered the biggest shopping day of the year.

If this is your situation then thankfully there is another way to get in on those same deals and more. Cyber Monday occurs just after Black Friday and it was created in order to allow people to take advantage of some of the great deals they missed on Black Friday. Cyber Monday offers a variety of great sales on all sorts of things like gaming systems such as the PS3 or XBOX 360. You may even be able to find Kinect for th4e Xbox as well as other accessories that go with your gaming system by shopping around on Cyber Monday.

Consider this your day as the stores are all trying to outdo themselves with the best prices. This means use some scrutiny and do not buy the iPad at the very first place you find it just because you cannot imagine it being sold at a lower price. This is a fatal mistake on Cyber Monday because there is always going to be that last place you end up where the price has been cut even more. Smart shopping couple with Cyber Monday can give you one of the best online shopping experiences of your life.

Amazon reported that Kindle Fire is the bestselling device in its store this Black Friday. It looks like Kindle Fire really found its niche and is going to become one of the bestselling devices not only in Amazon but in portable devices market.

The hustle and bustle of the holidays often takes us by surprise and hits us out of nowhere. Some of us are just shocked at how quickly the year goes by. With preparing a nice Thanksgiving dinner, cleaning the mess, seeing your guests off and everything else associated with the feast, it is easy to forget Black Friday.

Fortunately, if for some reason you were unable to go about shopping on the biggest shopping day of the year, Cyber Monday is a great alternative. In fact, there are some people who swear Cyber Monday is even better for great savings than Black Friday. Some stores list the same sale items they had on shelves on Cyber Monday to give shoppers one last chance to take advantage of the sale.

There are some stores which are for online shoppers only such as Amazon and E-Bay. Even sites such as those participate in Cyber Monday. You can find items that are reduced in price by as much as 80% in some cases! Cyber Monday is an excellent event for people who are homebound, snowed in or for some other reason cannot get out of the house.

While most of the online store do stock up sufficiently for the amount of orders they will receive on Cyber Monday, it is a good idea to start shopping as early as possible to be sure you do not get put on back order. You want to be sure all of your merchandise arrives in time for Christmas!

Of course, not everyone who shops on Cyber Monday is doing it for the purpose of stocking up on Christmas presents. Even people who do not celebrate Christmas participate in Cyber Monday simply because it is the best day of the year to find online discounts on much needed items.

Sony officially unveiled the PlayStation 3 (then marketed as PLAYSTATION 3) to the public on May 16, 2005 at the E3 2005 conference, along with a ‘boomerang’ shaped prototype design of the Sixaxis controller. A functional version of the system was not present there, nor at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2005, although demonstrations (such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots) were held at both events on software development kits and comparable personal computer hardware. Video footage based on the predicted PlayStation 3 specifications was also shown (notably a Final Fantasy VII tech demo). The initial prototype shown in May 2005 featured two HDMI ports, three Ethernet ports and six USB ports; however, when the system was shown again a year later at E3 2006, these were reduced to one HDMI port, one Ethernet port and four USB ports, presumably to cut costs. Two hardware configurations were also announced for the console: a 20 GB model and a 60 GB model. The 60 GB model was to be the only configuration to feature an HDMI port, Wi-Fi internet, flash card readers and a chrome trim with the logo in silver. Both models were announced for a simultaneous worldwide release: November 11 for Japan and November 17 for North America and Europe.
On September 6, 2006, Sony announced that the PAL region PlayStation 3 launch would be delayed until March 2007, due to a shortage of materials used in the Blu-ray drive. At the Tokyo Game Show on September 22, 2006, Sony announced that it would include an HDMI port on the 20 GB system, but a chrome trim, flash card readers, silver logo and Wi-Fi would not be included. Also, the launch price of the Japanese 20 GB model was reduced by over 20%, and the 60 GB model was announced for an open pricing scheme in Japan. During the event, Sony showed 27 playable PS3 games running on final hardware.

The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the film all Harry Potter fans have waited 10 years to see, and the good news is that it’s worth the hype–visually stunning, action packed, faithful to the book, and mature not just in its themes and emotion but in the acting by its cast, some of whom had spent half their lives making Harry Potter movies. Part 2 cuts right to the chase: Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) has stolen the Elder Wand, one of the three objects required to give someone power over death (a.k.a. the Deathly Hallows), with the intent to hunt and kill Harry. Meanwhile, Harry’s quest to destroy the rest of the Horcruxes (each containing a bit of Voldemort’s soul) leads him first to a thrilling (and hilarious–love that Polyjuice Potion!) trip to Gringotts Bank, then back to Hogwarts, where a spectacular battle pitting the young students and professors (a showcase of the British thesps who have stolen every scene of the series: Maggie Smith’s McGonagall, Jim Broadbent’s Slughorn, David Thewlis’s Lupin) against a dark army of Dementors, ogres, and Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter, with far less crazy eyes to make this round). As predicted all throughout the saga, Harry also has his final showdown with Voldemort–neither can live while the other survives–though the physics of that predicament might need a set of crib notes to explain. But while each installment has become progressively grimmer, this finale is the most balanced between light and dark (the dark is quite dark–several familiar characters die, with one significant death particularly grisly); the humor is sprinkled in at the most welcome times, thanks to the deft adaptation by Steve Kloves (who scribed all but one of the films from J.K. Rowling’s books) and direction by four-time Potter director David Yates. The climactic kiss between Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson), capping off a decade of romantic tension, is perfectly tuned to their idiosyncratic relationship, and Daniel Radcliffe has, over the last decade, certainly proven he was the right kid for the job all along. As Prof. Snape, the most perfect of casting choices in the best-cast franchise of all time, Alan Rickman breaks your heart. Only the epilogue (and the lack of chemistry between Harry and love Ginny Weasley, barely present here) stand a little shaky, but no matter: the most lucrative franchise in movie history to date has just reached its conclusion, and it’s done so without losing its soul. –Ellen A. The fourth generation of hardware released for the PlayStation 3 entertainment platform, the PlayStation 3 160GB system is the next stage in the evolution of Sony’s console gaming powerhouse. Loaded with a mix of multimedia features and functions available on earlier PlayStation 3 models, as well as a series of new advancements and refinements, the PlayStation 3 160GB system is destined to push the envelope in the realm of Next-Generation entertainment.

What’s Under the Hood
As with previous models, the PlayStation 3 160GB system features an IBM “Cell” processor and a co-developed NVIDIA graphics processor that together allow the system to perform two trillion calculations per second. Yet the 160GB system manages to improve on this with its 45nm version of the processor, which although running at the same 60+nm speed as previous PS3 versions, uses less energy. This makes the unit’s smaller size and quieter fan possible. Along with the traditional AV and composite connections, the 160GB system also boasts an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port, which delivers uncompressed, unconverted digital picture and sound to compatible high-definition TVs and projectors. (The system is capable of 128-bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution for a full HD experience) This console also provides for an extreme sound experience by supporting Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, as well as Linear PCM 7.1. Finally, it features cross connectivity with your PC network and PlayStation Portable (PSP) and its pre-installed, 160GB hard disc drive allows you to save games as well as download content from The Internet. Unlike other models of the PlayStation 3, the 160GB system does not offer backwards compatibility.

Blu-ray, PlayStation Network Downloads and Beyond
PlayStation 3 utilizes the Blu-ray disc media format, which gives you the best high-definition viewing experience on your television, by way of the format’s ability to hold six times as much data as traditional DVDs. This tremendous capacity, combined with the awesome power of the system’s processor and graphics card, promises an endless stream of mind-blowing games, and other multimedia content. However, this does not mean that the PS3 is limited to Blu-ray discs – it also supports CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats. In addition, PlayStation 3 system software includes BD Live support that allows you to play discs that support Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 (BD-LIVE). This means that you can also connect to the Internet while playing discs that support this format to obtain additional features. Of course, PS3 owners also receive free access to the PlayStation Network (PSN), where through the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Home, they can download games, game demos, movies, and other content, as well as chat with friends, play mini-games, compete in tournaments and explore dedicated game spaces.

Sensational Controller
The Dualshock 3 wireless controller(one controller) included with The PlayStation 3 160GB system provides the most intuitive gameplay experience, with pressure sensors in each action button and the inclusion of the highly sensitive Sixaxis motion-sensing technology. Each hit, crash, and explosion is more realistic when the user feels the rumble right in the palm of their hand. It can even detect natural movements for real-time and high precision interactive play, acting as a natural extension of the user’s body. Dualshock 3 utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless game play and the controller’s detachable USB cable to seamlessly and automatically charge the controller when connected to the PlayStation 3. By integrating all of these features into the popular PlayStation controller design, the Dualshock 3 further enhances the advanced gameplay experience only available on the PlayStation 3 system.

Synch with Your Other Sony HDMI Devices
The PlayStation 3 160GB system features HDMI + Bravia Synch functionality. Bravia Synch allows connectivity between Sony HDMI products without having to utilize multiple remote controls. This means that with the push of one button, users can control compliant Sony devices connected to your PS3 via HDMI cable.

What’s in The Box:

  • New slimmer and lighter PS3 system with a 160 GB HDD, Internet-ready built-in Wi-Fi, 2 USB ports and HDMI + Bravia Synch output for 1080p resolution and connectivity between other Sony HDMI products.

Amazon reported that Kindle Fire is the bestselling device in its store this Black Friday. It looks like Kindle Fire really found its niche and is going to become one of the bestselling devices not only in Amazon but in portable devices market.

So far, it doesn’t show much sign of hurting the iPad, but it is a different type of tablet. The competition is the Nook Color. Both the Kindle Fire and Nook Color are 7” tablets as opposed to the iPad being a 10” tablet.

Another great product to shop for on this Black Friday is Kindle Touch – a handy little e-reader. It packs a lot of great features into a tiny, compact little device. All navigation and page turns are done via the touch screen. However, there are two buttons remaining: the on/off switch, and a home button at the bottom.

The Kindle Touch started shipping on November 14 and arrived just in time for the Black Friday sales frenzy. It was released right along with the Kindle Fire, Amazon’s long anticipated Kindle tablet.

There are touch screen counterparts available from Barnes & Noble and Kobo, but they’re a bit wider and don’t’ offer some of the features that the Kindle Touch does.

Amazon introduced Kindle Public Library Lending earlier this fall, and it has really taken off. It is currently available in 11,000 and counting libraries nationwide. Other e-readers such as the Nook have been compatible with e-books for awhile. By allowing books to be checked out on the Kindle, e-book borrowing is now available to a much greater audience since the Kindle is the bestselling e-reader.

There’s lot be desired about iPhone 4s, that is for sure:

Siri. The intelligent assistant that helps you get

things done. All you have to do is ask.

Now you can use your voice to use your iPhone. Just talk to Siri as you would to a person: “Do I need an umbrella?” or “Any great burgers around here?” or “Where’s the closest ATM?” Siri not only understands what you say, it knows what you mean.1 It figures out the right apps to use to find the right answer. Then, just like a personal assistant, it answers you. Siri makes phone calls, sends messages, schedules meetings, sets reminders, and more. How much more? Just ask, and Siri tells you that, too.

Set reminders.

Dual-core A5 chip.

The most powerful iPhone ever.

Two cores in the A5 chip deliver up to two times more power and up to seven times faster graphics.2 And you’ll feel the effects. Fast. iPhone 4S is quick and responsive, which makes all the difference when you’re launching apps, browsing the web, gaming, and doing just about everything. And no matter what you’re doing, you can keep on doing it. Because the A5 chip is so power-efficient, iPhone 4S has outstanding battery life.

iPhone 4S is great for gamers. The A5 chip pushes graphics up to seven times faster. So games run smoother and they’re even more realistic. And graphics-intensive apps perform even better..

The you-can’t-believe-it’s-on-a-phone camera.

This just might be the best camera ever on a phone. And with all-new optics, it just might be the only camera you need. Because behind every shot, you’ve got 8-megapixel resolution and a custom lens with a larger f/2.4 aperture. Not to mention an improved backside illumination sensor, excellent auto white balance, advanced color accuracy, face detection, and reduced motion blur. It all means that no matter how many people, how much light, and how much action you capture, everything looks exactly as it should. And just wait until you see the photos.

Amazon Kindle Black FridayCurrent Amazon Black Friday Deals can be checked here.

2011 is the first year that the Kindle is offered in a large variety of styles and prices.  Amazon has introduced a lot of big programs this year in addition to refreshing the Kindle e-reader lineup.

The Kindle, often called the Kindle 4, is a pocket sized e-reader designed for consumers new to the e-reader world, and for those who just want a simple, intuitive device primarily used for reading.  It holds about half the amount of space that the rest of the Kindles hold, but it still has access to unlimited cloud storage.  The Kindle has about a month’s battery life, and is wi-fi only.  However, consumers can choose whether they want a model with special offers, or pay a little more to get it without them.

Speaking of Special Offers, they do not interfere with reading at all.  They only display on the screen saver and the bottom of the home screen.  For those who already have a Special Offers Kindle or Kindle Touch, watch them closely for any Black Friday offerings.  One of the best special offers have been the one on gift cards.

In the past, the Kindle has been geared towards adults, but now there are a lot of children’s books and games available on the e-reader.  The basic Kindle is also well within the price range that would make it a suitable gift for kids.  It is also easy to navigate, making it more suitable for kids as well.

Kindle games have debuted this year, and with them, there are a lot of different educational games that cover subjects such as math and reading.  There are also interactive books that encourage readers to determine the outcome of the story by answering questions throughout the book.  This gets kids and adults alike more engaged in what they’re reading.  Many of the games that were originally designed for the Kindle Keyboard are now also available on the Kindle 4.

There is something about the lure of a new gadget that can get people more excited about reading.  So, move over video games!  E-readers will be the gadget to get this holiday season.

Today two black Friday deals from for iPod MP3 players (iPod Touch and iPod Nano) came and went (35% and 15% off respectively). Which is not bad at all for products from company that is keep on premium products at premium prices. For the second year in a row, the most coveted product to get deals for is Apple iPad (now iPad2). It’s the tablet that created the tablet market and currently dominates it.

Apple iPad 2

Technology so advanced, you’ll forget it’s even there.

When you pick up iPad, it becomes an extension of you. That’s the idea behind its innovative design. It’s just 0.34 inch thin and weighs as little as 1.33 pounds, so it feels completely comfortable in your hands.2 And it makes surfing the web, checking email, watching movies, and reading books so natural, you’ll wonder why you ever did it any other way.

Instant On. Touch and go.

Pick up your iPad, press the Home button, and it wakes from sleep instantly. That’s because iPad features fast, efficient, and reliable flash storage that lets you access data quickly. So everything effortlessly springs to life.

Battery life keeps on going. So you can, too.

Even with such a thin, light design, iPad has an incredible 10-hour battery life.1 That’s enough juice for one flight across the ocean, or one movie-watching all-nighter, or a week’s commute across town. Because iPad hardware and software are made for each other, the power-efficient A5 chip works with the iOS software to keep battery life from fading away.

Dual-core A5 chip. It’s fast, times two.

Two powerful cores in one A5 chip mean iPad can do twice the work at once. Multitasking is smooth, apps load quickly, and anything you touch responds instantly. And with up to nine times the graphics performance of the first-generation iPad, everything on iPad 2 is even more fluid and realistic, from gameplay to scrolling through your photo library.

Perhaps in the future Android will catch up, but for the time being iPad is “the tablet”

This Thanksgiving night two of the Apple iPod media players will be on sale on Amazon.com website. It’s yet unclear how large discounts will be, but usually they are substantial. We’ll keep checking Amazon Black Friday deals page on a regular basis and will advise you to do the same. There are plenty of great deals there.
